Maitland Arts Festival Maitland Florida
Friday evening as I am driving down Maitland Avenue,which is my usual route to Winter Park, I am suddenly blocked by a series of barricades at 8pm. The 35th annual Maitland Arts Festival is taking place. This year the festival is open for nightime hours. This gave us a friendly reminder that some of the more attractive paintings, crafts and others may be gone before we are set to attend on Sunday.
Sunday arrived and the weather was beautiful. If you live in Central Florida or ever plan on visiting. October is one of the most magnificient times to be in town. The weather was a sunny, cool, pleasant 84 degrees. The Maitland Arts Festival was in full swing. There were over 150 exhibitors showing their artistic creations. Advertiser were in full force with a local jazz radio station, a local news station, local fitness clubs, and other locals giving away promotional materials. The festival featured a huge grandstage with live music performing throughout the day. The sale of food, parking fees, and festival posters all went to benefit local charities. The event was a success with over 80,000 people who attended throughout the weekend.
