The Roadrunner under my sink was waiting for a new coat of paint... he came in to wait in private and he was feeling a little self-concious!  He has been hanging out  there, hoping I would  fix him up and get him ready for a new "season" here at La Quinta Country Club!

The spunky, feisty bird  can be spotted all across the desert region, but the Roadrunner is very special here at La Quinta Country Club, becaues he is our mascot!  In 1973 the club logo was changed from

"Little Joe" holding a bag of golf clubs.                                                                             To a new  Roadrunner logo...

Through the years... the Roadrunner can be seen everywhere in our neighborhood, and we see them chasing over walls and scurrying down the fairways~ Our monthly newsletter is called the "Roadrunner" and our Men's Member-Guest is also "THE ROADRUNNER" !

sporty roadrunner

turquoise roadrunner spa roadrunnerThe Roadrunner is synonymous with LQCC and is very much at home here~

Years ago, before we moved to La Quinta, my Mom painted a Roadrunner and it hung in our kitchen at home... now it is in my kitchen in La Quinta...  "roadrunner" by Penne Fuertges...even crazier, my brother has this image tattooed on his shoulder, so he takes the Roadrunner everwhere!

This afternoon, I returned our "garden Roadrunner" to his place in front of our house-- he has been painted and buffed and is ready to welcome in a new season at La Quinta Country Club!    roadrunner in my garden

What a clever lady you are - I love the half-buried pot next to the roadrunner's new spot, too.

You win for having the most unlikely thing under your sink!  Glad to see you took him out of the dark and put him back in the great outdoors where he belongs!  We see them often here in Tucson, AZ.  Before moving here, the only roadrunner I saw was the one escaping Wylie Coyote!  Great job with the blog and localism.

Wow Kathy, you have set the bar really high for this contest.  Hard to imagine how anyone can top that, but we'll have to try, right?

Look at all those chemicals in your sink cabinet. They are dangerous there to pets and kids, and they also can do some serious damage to your plastic sewer pipes, your metal water pipes, the metal casing on your disposal, and the underside of your sink. They should be moved immediately to an upper cabinet, like above the refrigerator or microwave, or to a cabinet in the garage.

DOn't think anyone will discover anything quite so original under their sinks.  Glad your roadrunner finally escaped from down under.

I enjoyed all the before unknown info on Roadrunners and how cleverly written.  The critter was looking pretty poorly under the sink and I'm sure it feels much better being restored to sparkling good health and back outside.

Very nice post.  That may win the, "most random thing under the sink," contest.  I have only seen roadrunners in the cartoons.  "Meep, meep!"
