Joshua.  I saw that on the TV news and was surprised.  Nonsense, nothing surprises me any longer.

Jack.  The sky that afternoon just looked like an autumn sky.

Kevin.  I'm hoping we dodge the snow bullet this year.  It has happened.

Patricia.  Thanks.  The countryside and scenes here are just lovely.

Tammie.  Do it.  I'd love to see some Tennessee scenes.

Paul.  Thanks.  I'm nowhere near water, which I love, but my second choice is mountains, which we have the Blue Ridge just 20 miles to the West.

Lou.  It is - at least until it snows.

Phil.  Thanks.  That's what I said.

I feel winter is upon us!  Let's hope we don't get pounded like last year. I love your home!

Laura.  Thanks.  I agree.  From the first day of Fall forward, the "signs" of winter have been clear.

I dread it.  But, we persevere and look forward to spring.

Fall is nice in Maryland...but those Jan teps are the exact reason I left Frederick County after four years and headed home to Florida!

Lenn, beautiful weather and country up there.  But when the thermometer dips below 65 deg., we Florida wimps prefer the 80's and will take the humidity!

Gary.  It can get pretty rough in Frederick County MD.  That said, I am not fond of huricanes or scorpions either.

Gabe.  I prefer the 80s and don't mind the humidity either.

I just love that top picture, I could easily burn a nice afternoon nap out there!  In Colorado we think it's humid after someone takes a long shower and steams up the the mirrors.

Jeff.  HA!  I've been in this home for almost 5 years.

Jason.  I've been in Colorado and absolutely loved it.  My first view of the Rockies.  Visiting the AF Academy.  Catching trout in a local lake.

Loved it.

Lenn-  I like the pic and the facts, but your MAP is a work of ART! I just happen to love maps and geography and yours definitely ranks with the best.

Barbara.  Thanks.  I believe that I have a map fetish.  The only souvenir I kept from Williamsburg is a map.

Yep, have to agree that the map is great... I need to design something similar for our area. We are just 15 miles west of NYC and people have no idea what awaits them in New Jersey... they don't call it the garden state for nothing! Lenn, your home is beautiful! When are you taking us on a video tour of it?!

Caroline.  Go to the "Homefinders Video" in the post above.  Some of the house is there, not much.

Lenn - All of those pictures will be of orange trees and brown grass soon, My favorite time of year. The information about the lowest temperature is questionable. I'm not sure I would trust the readings from 1035.

A client today in our office saw a photo of a house on the lake in the snow and was asking how often we get snow and how cold it gets.  She was from California and not used to snow.  I've got to write a similar post about my neck of the woods.

I really wouldn't have thought your average high in January to be 47, much higher than I expected.

Hey Lenn, interesting facts you have about Loudoun County. Like Josh said Long Island and NYC...NYC! got hit by two tornadoes.  That is some dangerous stuff, it shut down the trains for hours.

Lenn, our skies have looked a little like that lately, but we have rain drops falling out of our clouds.

Carole.  Every 5 years or so a tornato will form in this general area of 50 miles of D.C.  It's unusual and generally the weather departments try to deny it.  I haven't yet figured out why.

George.  We had a good bit of rain this year.  Nice because I never had the August grass "brown-out".
