This is something completely non-real estate related but it's something very near and dear to my heart. At a very young age my dad has instilled in me the understanding and belief that no matter how bad we think we may have it, someone always always always has it worse! He taught us four kids (me, my sister and two brothers) to count our blessings and help others when and where we can. So, I try to give when I can and, especially when it has to do with kids, I can't help but try to do something.. ANYTHING!
With all that being said, I wanted to bring to your attention that it's "Kidd's Kids Day!" If you're unfamiliar with what this means I'm attaching the link to the website that explains it in full. Every year Kidd Kraddick and his team from 106.1 sends 50 kids who have special needs and their entire families (including brothers and sisters) to Disney World. This is such an incredible way to give back, in my opinion. I don't know if you have ever been around special needs kids, but my mom has worked with special needs kids for the past 10 or so years and it is the most challenging yet, even moreso, rewarding job you could have. I've spent time with her and her kids and they are just the most precious little angels you could ever meet, even though every day is a challenge and a struggle for them and their families. They just have a way of touching your heart!!
So, the reason behind this blog.. I know the economy is not the best and for a lot of people it's a struggle to just get by, but whether you can give money or not you can, at the very least, forward this blog or your own story on to your circle to bring awareness of the day in hopes of raising as much money as possible. This is something I truly believe in and couldn't end the day without making others aware of this incredible way to give back. I thank you for your time in reading this blog and, especially, thank you for your donations and/or spreading the word! I realize this is not, by any means, related to real estate, but if you really think about it, it's a great way to support the community in which you live just as we real estate agents should always do!
