Carlisle MAAbout Carlisle, Massachusetts

Carlisle is a quiet picturesque New England town offering a friendly, small-town community with winding roads weaving past stone walls, fields farmed for generations, unspoiled woods, open space and a working cranberry bog. It has a top-ranked school system, and its reputation as a "quality of life" community is well deserved and carefully maintained by its citizens.

Housing options range from historic New England colonial homes to modernist homes situated to take advantage of woodland and field views.

Outdoor recreation in Carlisle is year round. The town has over 25% of protected conservation-recreation land, hiking, cross-country skiing trails, some of which abut the town's cranberry bogs. A popular destination in Carlisle is Great Brook Farm State Park, which provides groomed ski trails in the winter, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking trails, and a working dairy farm and ice cream operation year round.

To preserve its quite, small-town atmosphere, Carlisle has a two-acre zoning regulation to ensure the pastoral landscape. It is an excellent commuting location and is close to Routes 2, I-95, 128 and I-495. Boston is within 40 minutes. Jennifer - There was a house that sold for $3,250,000 last year and this year the highest sale price so far is $1,450,000. This really made a big difference in the market report.
