Wilmington NC Star News reports the price is right in Southeast, North Carolina new home communities. Land in established communities is selling at a great price. Lenders are financing lots with the infrastructure of water, sewer, and roads in new home communities that have stalled when the market slowed. Builders are able to buy finished lots for much less, at a price of $45,000 or less! Rule of thumb says the cost of land is generally 20% of the home price.
