Here are the photos of the fall colors in Joliet.
Here is a tree with yellow leaves on the south end of town that wanted to be part of this montage.
Now the next photo is not your usual fall colors photo but it was also screaming "take a photo" so I did.
Brown, yellow, green and red... who said the fall colors come only with leaves? :)
Not to be outdone, this vibrant green bug on Main Street blended well with the fall colors.
OK, so perhaps on this day in fall, the machinery seemed to draw the attention more than the leaves but don't dispair, I did find some interesting leaves with fall colors to also capture with my camera.
OK, I still see machine (a yellow one) on the bottom right of the photo above. :)
How about some other kind of horse power?
OK, enough distractions, here are the true fall colors in Joliet.
Fall colors including some falls! :)
In the photo above is Rock Creek in Joliet (the same Rock Creek that goes through Red Lodge and Roberts as shown in the map right below).
And if we zoom in (away from the birds and on the house), we can actually see some red fall color in Joliet (you had to look really hard in town to find some red leaves!)
The Joliet Community Center (seen above) houses the town's public library and plays host to various community events and fund raisers during the year. If you happen to be in Joliet in April, make sure to check out the latest play performed by The Free Range Banana and Mining Company. I was happy to assist at their plays in 2009 and 2010 and I highly recommend it. It is great entertainment and the package, depending on the night, comes with dessert or with dinner besides being a fund raiser for the Joliet Community Center and the Friends of the Joliet Public Library.
Stay tuned! We are heading to Absarokee next.

Thank you for the research on Joliet. I remember doing a similar research when I first moved to Montana. It was a nice refresher and I did learn a few additional things that I had not picked up the first time! It is interesting to know that Louis Joliet also spelled Jolliet (along with Jacques Marquette) were the first Europeans to explore and map the much of the Mississipi River in 1673. Joliet or Joliette is a very popular name. It is also the name of a street and a subway station in Montreal, Quebec. I had forgotten (or didn't remember from my past research) that the several variations in the spelling of the name "Jolliet" reflect spelling that occurred at times when illiteracy or poor literacy was common, and spelling was still highly unstandardized.
