Hey Petaluma, how are you doing this week? There is a lot happening around our little town and the whole bay area....Go Giants!!!!
I would like to highlight just two happenings, one in Petaluma and the other on the San Francisco Bay.
First off, this Sunday is the first ever Pyramid Party at Heritage Salvage. This is a brief description of what the Pyramid Party is all about from their website: The original intention of the Pyramid Party Event was to celebrate community. By bringing together the wonderful service organizations we are blessed with in Petaluma and introducing them to you! Our wish is that you will not have to avail yourself of the services of Petaluma People Services, or COTS, or Petaluma Bounty, but the fact that these wonderful organizations are here is one of the reasons Petaluma is such a great place to live.
There are 8 bands playing, bar b qued chicken, beer, wine and plenty of good friends to enjoy this event with. KRUSH will be broadcasting live from the event, which runs from noon-5 on 10-10-10 at Heritage Salvage on 1473 S. Petaluma Blvd. All proceeds will benefit Danny Cox.
The second happening I want to talk about is dear to my heart. It's the Blue Angels show over the San Francisco Bay. I know it's not happening in Petaluma, but since I have 5 year old son and he lives for airplanes and especially the Blue Angels. My wife and I by accident or coincident saw them with our son on the Ferry a few years ago and have made the trip back every year since. To see his eyes when they fly by is whatever parent lives for. The look of pure enjoyment, happiness and I can't believe I am seeing this look. Catch the 2:20 ferry from Tiburon and while it crosses the bay, the Blue Angels will fly over head. It's amazing to see all the kids go crazy as they do their stunts. Yes you could watch it from the shore or deal with the crowds by going to Marina in the city. I feel this is the best way to watch them for the best price, plus who doesn't like a cruise on the water on sunny day. The boat has a café so you can grab something to drink or bag chips. The Blue Angels show starts at 3 PM; the ferry will be passing Angel Island right about that time, so they literally fly right over head.
Whatever you do this weekend, weather in Petaluma or elsewhere, have fun, keep smiling and be safe.
BTW- If you there is ever anything you would like me to highlight or promote in Petaluma please let me know.
