And as local experts, we are a good source for on-the-scene answers.  The answer to, "Is this a good time for buyers to get a bargain in Asheville ?"  depends on how one defines " bargain."

Going beyond possible financial opportunities due to foreclosure and/or short sale, if the definition of  "bargain" extends to the concept of "value-added" then the answer is a resounding YES! Asheville Real Estate Market "Value-Added" -Features to look for when "value-added" is important to you:

Low-VOC paints, caulks, sealants and finishes

Yes the character and personality of this neighborhood is diverse. There are home across streams one reaches via a footpath, and there are bungalows just a handshake away from each other...there are estates where one may find a beautiful Arabian...and there are tiny art studios.. You see this reflected in the stats.
