Going to Give Farming a Shot

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 01845411

I have farmed before, I have knocked on hundreds of doors and left hundred of flyers, newsletters, and business cards, but because I was hoping for instant gratification of homeowners being like "oh yes I just had made the decision to sale my house, would you like to list it" or "I am tired of renting would you like to help me take the steps to be a homeowner?" Only in a perfect world right? So I am able to admit the first mistake about farming. I know I have to be consistant.

A test was done on a neighborhood were they where asked Who the neighborhood Realtor was, and they got a bunch of "I don't knows"  for the most part, than this group made a fictional real estate agent, mailed out postcards to this neighborhood, left flyers on doors for 3 consectutive months, than they went to the neighborhood again and asked the residence once more "who is your neighborhood reator" and to their surprise their fictional real estate agent got the vote.

So that is just a reminder, do not get discouraged if you don't get the instant gratification from knocking on doors, just be consistant and it will eventually pay off.

I knock on doors but what I find is that while some may not want to sell, it is a great way to connect and get to know the people in the community.  Good luck in your farming .. be consistent and don't give in .... Keep us posted.

Good luck with your farming.  I know of someone that has been consistent with her farm since I have known her (11 years) and she owns that farm.  It is about Consistency.  All the best.

Farming by knocking on doors will work. Best wishes for continued success. The secret for getting calls is what you leave when nobody answers the door.

Good luck with farming. I've known people who do well with farming and others who don't get any business. Hope you do well!
