When I started in this business I thought okay I'll get my license and sit at a desk. People will line up to call me and I'll make money and not do much. Goes to show you what I knew. Anyway do you have faith the market will turn around? Do you believe it has hit its low? If so hold onto your wallet while I don't think it has hit its low I do believe it is close and the market will come back like gangbusters. Have faith wait and see. It's a great day to buy or sell a home.
It can get frustrating for sure. But we must keep the course, keep marketing and stay positive-Positive attitudes brings positive results!
Keep on working, keep on working, that is my only thought until the upward trend in the market begins. It is not if it will trend up, it is when, and I will be here when it does!
James,
When you can buy a 3 bedroom house for less than a car it tells me we are very close to the bottom. I have a house under contract for $50k. The house needs new paint and carpet. You tell me if we are at the bottom... :O)
I believe the market will come back when people have jobs. That's the #1 most important leading indicator IMO.
No one really can say for sure....work hard and if you have to ...dip into the rainy day fund....LOL
I think it depends on what part of the country you are in James. In Florida, not so much. We are struggling and I can't see an end in sight.
Each local market is so different it just depends on the location. My local market is in a vacation destination/ second homes / retirement and in an area that saw way too much growth before the fall that was just so unsustainable for local income levels that we saw a huge drop in pricing and in some subdivisions is still dropping. The recent events with reo properties and foreclosures placed in limbo have strangely made the short sales appear somewhat more attractive at the moment. Still, no end in sight here.
I actually think 2011 is going to be a good year. At least locally that is.
So many comments and so diverse in their nature. Since I look at the bright side I believe the rest of 2010 and all of 2011 will not only be good but a great year to be in real estate. See all of you at the top,, :-)
Great photo James - your personality comes through loud and clear. I can see why you're doing well, you've got a contagious attitude!
Hi James, it's interesting to see the different opinions that other agents have. I choose to be optimistic and not fall into the depressing mood that many choose to promote these days, this is the time to see the true professionals shine by working hard for their clients.
There is always hope, and I'd rather focus on things getting better than things getting worse. Either way, we'll get something out of it.
You can ONLY have faith in what you do not see! If you see it, how would there be faith?
Oh, you meant real estate...? ;)
Somebody needs to buy or sell a home this week. Be the one to help them. Good luck. Margaret C.
The market, like life in general is a series of peaks and valleys. How one deals with the valleys is the key.
What goes down, must come up. 1/2 of it is your attitude. Very good point and title. Thanks for the post
We should never loose hope. We never know when things will start moving upwards. Let's pray for more sales and let's work harder to make those sales.
James Have the faith. Don't get me wrong I have the faith also but I also believe the quote below.
"The secret to productive goal setting is in establishing clearly defined goals, writing them down and then focusing on them several times a day with words, pictures and emotions as if we've
already achieved them."
-Denis Waitley
Beyond The Quote
Create a clear plan and envision yourself experiencing success every day of your life. You are more likely to compel yourself to do everything in your power to acquire your goals, when you write them down and focus on them daily. Make it a Great Day!
