South Lake Union Seattle is a neighborhood that is growing fast. There are many condo developments planned along with the light rail going being built.
The neighborhood of South Lake Union Seattle is bigger than most people think. It is located east of Uptown where Broad Street and Denny Way form the lower left corner of the parimeter. Denny Way serves as the southern border unitl you reach Fairview Avenue. Fairview Avenue separates South Lake Union from Cascade.
The first thing people think about when they hear South Lake Union Seattle is the beautiful views of the lake, boats, and Gas Works Park. The views of South Lake Union Seattle are often found on post cards, the boats line all sides of the lake, and Gas Works Park can be seen at the north end.
As of May 21, 2007 there are a few major projects planned for the area. They are as follows:
1. UW Medicine – 800 Republican Street and will have around 700 employees.
2. Interurban Exchange 2 – 535 Terry Ave North. This will be a five story building for either offices or bio tech.
3. The Veer Lofts – 401 9th Ave North. This will be a mixed-use six story building that will have 99 condos and street level commercial spaces.
There are many more projects being built. As stated before, South Lake Union is going to become a busy, busy neighborhood.
