Don't Miss the Rayne Frog Jumping contest at the Frog Festival this year. November 12, 2010, the streets of Rayne will fill up with frog lovers from all over. This year the festival will be held from Nov. 12 to Nov. 15, 2010. There will be frog jumping contests, music, food, and good family fun. It kicks off with a family night and carnival rides for the family. You'll meet Mr. and Mrs. Tadpole. And the big event is usually Saturday afternoon with Frog racing and Frog jumping contests. Bring your own frog or usually you can rent one there.
The town of Rayne started in the 1800's when the railroad came to town. It was first called Poupperville, but changed the name to honor the engineer who laid the tracks: Rayne.
