Hello, all. This is my first crack at the Blog world of AR. I am friends with Jason and Sarah. I am in Iraq at the moment as a contractor. I work for a small company as an Instructor on safe operations of certain types of equipment. I am here to help out our troops be safe as they operate their equipment.
I was a soldier myself no too long ago and am glad I can still help out the fight. Though the enemy has changed tactics quite a bit since my days in boots, their resillence is still there. It is pretty hot over here right now, but will be cooling off soon. I work 7 days a week, 12 hr a day, and believe it or not time flies by over here. I can only imagine what home looks like after being away. See, nothing changes here, or at least you never notice the changes because you are so involved with what it is you do. Then all of a sudden a whole complex is there that you never even noticed a nut and bolt being placed into.
Believe it or not it definitely gets cold here in Dec-Feb. During those times where I am at it will be low as 35 degrees at night and 65 degrees during the day. That is when I feel for these guys quite a bit as they are constantly in the changes and can get sick from them. I live in what are called CHU's. Container Housing Unit. They are like train box cars but smaller. You know the regular looking cargo box cars. They are split into two with a common bathroom you share with your CHU or the slang term (Hooch) mate. Ill send some pics with the next blog if anyone is intersted in seeing what we are living in and that kind of stuff. IF you can attach pics, I do not even know for sure. Let me know about that one.
