Homes in the Indian Spring Neigborhood were originally built as Golf Course or Country Club Homes. The area was developed around the Old Indian Spring Country Club & Golf Course in the early 1930's. When Country Club moved out to Layhill Road in mid 1950's, the grounds and buildings became the home of the Silver Spring YMCA.  Indian Spring is just inside the Beltway in Silver Spring, east of Colesville Road (Route 29). The south border is Franklin Avenue and the west, University Boulevard.

The Indian Spring community was listed in the Washingtonian one of the "Best Places to Live" (2005).  "This is the kind of inner-Beltway suburb that downtown Silver Spring was revitalized for. The professionals living here may have families, but they're not so suburbanized that they don't enjoy the art films, live music, and trendy food that are trademarks of the new Silver Spring."  - Washingtonian Magazine.

Ah.  Those fabulous old brick Colonials in Indian Springs.  These homes, if maintained well are a classic.  I love this neighborhood.  So convenient.  So beautiful.  It's one of the nicest "inside the Beltway neighborhoods in the area.

Debbie - what beautiful buildings - I love those "classic" neighborhoods (and the prices are not bad either).

Debbie, how big of an area is this in terms of houses? The reason I ask is that it doesn't appear to have many active listings and I was wondering how large of an area this really is?

The homes look lovely and well maintained from your photos.

Debbie, It looks like a fabulous area and obviously not experiencing any of the fallout that so many of us are enduing especially with only 13 active listings. Hope you have all 13!!
