So worth stopping to get this picture. We need to go on a picture taking adventure in Charleston together sometime.
Joye - Please don't say that word winter--I am still trying to love the fall! How about "Ready for Hungry Critters"? : )
Because I am the first generation that hasn't farmed in my family, I'm not very smart about things around rural America. Are those tall things just under the underhangs of the barn, large bags of feed? If so, I'd say this farmer/rancher has his ducks in a row for a very long winter:-)
Hi Myrl, I first thought of naming the post: Prepared for Winter.....I do believe that that is rolls of hay, for the cows, horses, etc.. Photo was taken in rual Alabama.
Chris, looks like this farmer is set for winter. I'm sure his herd will enjoy !
Jeffery, yes, the scenery of the back roads is always nice. Alabama has a definate change of four seasons.
Thanks for the comments !
Joye, Great picture, you captured the area well..Time can slow down, I am not ready for winter..
Hello Joe, That is a wonderful photo and is so striking in it's composition and color.
Beautiful photo. Aren't you glad you took the back roads? Does this area tend to have that white stuff in winter? Sorry, but I just assumed that Alabama is more like northern Florida - maybe a couple of frost nights?
Hi Juli, the photo was taken in North Alabama....much unlike the Florida neighbor. As a child, we had snow at least a couple of times a year. These days....a snow every few years apart. And frost, most winter days.
Thanks for the comments.

A beautiful picture with a gorgeous mountain background. So serene and all neat, tidy and tucked in for the winter.

Joye, Very good photo of the barn and the background hills. The hay bails can weigh as much as 2500 lbs so they are big.
Hi Don, it's amazing a a bail can weigh that much. And to think how rapidly they "roll'em up".
Thanks for the comment.
Joye, I love your photo! It looks so autmn-y with the barn and the fading grass! Wow.
very cool picture...this is a beautiful time of year to take that ride!
