Am I seeing that this person built a hearth of wood to store wood in it? I'm kind of scratching my head over here in Minnesota. But, the fireplace reminds me that I'm chilly and a little fire would be nice! :) Might need to get ours going soon!

Michael, This is funny but I do see some great use for this door step. 1. To lay your head on when you fall asleep in front of the fire. 2. Get your hammer and crack those pecans on a cold winter night. 3. Pick it up when the snow is blowing and tuck it under the covers. 4. Put it on the night stand to keep your Coffey warm all night long. I could go on but who cares. :) :) Just add your to the list.
