The Billion Dollar Home: Most Expensive Home in The WORLD

For the price of 1 BILLION dollars, you could be living in a skyscaper mansion with more square footage that the palace of Versailles.

It’s not completely finished in this photo, but the fully completed version doesn’t look all that different. Click here to see it on the Telegraph.co.uk website. Exposed steel and glass was the desired look apparently. Very post modern (I'd rather live in Versailles) And yes, that entire thing is for one family.

Located in Mumbai, the most expensive house in the world is owned (fittingly) by the richest man in India: Mukesh Ambani, age 53. He lives in the $1 billion skyscraper mansion with his wife, three children and 600 servants.

Named Anitlla, the entire structure is 27 stories high, although to be fair the first 6 floors are a 160-car garage.

The amenities are as extravagant as they are endless, but what would you expect from the fourth richest human on the planet?

For the full list of amenities and the magic number of sqare feet all you have to do is click here for my full MoneyWatch post.

Ilyce, hard to believe this all for one family.....I always wonder how long something like this would take to clean...

There is the FAMILY, then the STAFF, then the MAINTENANCE STAFF, the PETS and the DRIVERS!!!  Owners of these types of properties have loads of "help"!

Jeana - already been bought! But if and when the Ambanis move, I don't know how they're going to sell it to one person. Maybe break it up for a couple of buyers.

Vickie - you said it, must take hours, then you just have to start cleaning the whole thing all over again.

Wallace - very true. This family has 600 servants at their disposal!

I'd consider making an offer, but the completion date just doesn't work for me.  The commute to Southern California would be a bit tough as well.  ;-)
