Walk where no one else has walked.

I hope you'll take a deep breath and relax for a minute or two and take in a fall scene from Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I snapped this with my droid as I headed down Rockhouse Rd. Friday morning leaving south from Eureka Springs. Every once in a while I drive out this way either to visit a friend, showproperty or just enjoy the tunnel of green and sunlight on the way to the beautiful Kings River. The canopy in northwest Arkansas is magnificent. The earth is covered with trees. Any walk in the wild woods here is a bit of a challenge. The brush left to its own grows thick and viney in our relatively long warm growing season.

Out Rockhouse you can still find acres and acres of peace and quiet. The hills allow for some scenic vistas here and there overlooking Keel's Creek or the Kings. Limestone bluffs rise out of the earth as if in defiance of the rugged terrain.

Here's a part of the world where you just might walk where no one else has ever walked. Beat that if you can.

Look at those trees and the sun breaking through. Not a photo I would expect from a cell phone

I cannot beat that.  I barely got outside today (yesterday, by now), but I can smell the leaves in this picture and feel the coolness of the shade.  It is nice that we have still have 'wilderness' to enjoy.  Thanks for getting me outside today Charles!

Charles...I like the dark tunnel effect created by all the lush foliage, nothing like a walk in the woods for me it sounds like you enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Charles ~ you just transported me to my childhood running barefoot through a tree covered path in Arkansas where my father used to take us for summer get aways.  I can feel my toes digging into that beautiful red soil.  Thank you!

I love the acoustics under the tree covered canopy. That's a nice look down Rockhouse Road. I love it when you're out driving and see such a scene and think, "I wonder where that road leads." Some days, you just have to make time and find out.

I can't even touch that, let alone beat it.  That is a great photo.  Thanks for sharing.  I would walk my dog for a living if I had a street like that near me.

What a beautiful scene... it would be easy to get outside and exercise more, if one had a place like that nearby.

We took a carriage ride under your canopy, (not sure it was on this road though, more in town) many years ago...and remembered that on our FIRST trip (many years before that), the canopy was not so thick, though the surrounding grounds were definitely lush! Beautiful shot brought back beautiful memories!

I love taking my children to Eureka Springs!  My favorite part is the drive from Fort Smith to there.  It's amazing!

Leigh Ann, You are talking about the John Paul Hammerschmidt Hwy aka 540. I agree that is a sensational drive.

Cheryl, Come back soon.

Margaret, We have peace, serenity and lots of elbow room.

Alex, Walking a dog is great but doesn't pay well as a rule..hah.

Wow Charles you really captured NWA in the fall, of course I know you favor Eureka Springs.   But I'm looking forward to see the next couple of weeks, to see all the colors the trees create.  Thanks again for the pic.
