Le Jardin des Douars hotel resort, Essaouira, Morocco

My sister-in-law's fabulous Moroccan wedding was held at Le Jardin des Douars, a resort/hotel in the hills of Essaouira. It bills itself as a guest "palace," or ksar, and it was indeed beautifully built and decorated, with lovely gardens, two swimming pools, restaurant, and bar. We arrived at the hotel in the late morning and I took this photo of the house next door. It didn't look too shabby either.

You went all the way to Morocco just for a wedding? Did you actually go to the wedding or explore Morocco? LOL

I did indeed go all the way to Morocco for Sophie's wedding. It was so spectacular that it was totally worth it! Not to mention the music, the food, and the friends and family....

I explored Marrakesh, Essaouira, and Casablanca for one day before returning to the States. Over the next few months, I will be posting photos of this fascinating country.
