The Raupp Museum benefits the Buffalo Grove community by educating those who visit on the history of the area. Overseen by the Buffalo Grove Park District, the museum is an award-winning member of the Illinois Association of Museums. The three acre parcel that houses the museum was bequeathed to the Village of Buffalo Grove, along with the building, on the condition that it become either a museum or a library. The museum was officially dedicated on September 16, 1979.
Today the museum's collection contains approximately 3,000 historical artifacts, and those living in Buffalo Grove Illinois can learn more about the area from visiting the Raupp Museum.
