North Carolina's Outer Banks: A few Photos

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Realty Arts NC Broker License #235526

The Outer Banks of North Carolina helped greatly to convince us to move here 13 years ago.

They have not lost any of their allure in that time.

For some reason, we did not visit the ocean this summer.  Stuff got in the way.  So, I got into my Flickr photos to remind myself what we missed.  And the images reminded us that we missed a LOT.  But, Fall is a great time to go to the beach.  It is quieter.  The weather can be cool, but pleasant, and we don't have to worry about sweltering heat.  And, in the fall, the surf fishing is generally improved with cooler water temperatures.

We just might have to make an excursion.

Until then, we will enjoy the memories in photos.

Stacey,

Well, what are you waiting for?  It will captivate you!

Andrzej,

Thanks, and you are most welcome!

Kellie,

That is a strong buyers' market right now, and I think it will continue to be one.  But, I rent there, and am not hooked up.  There are some great AR members at OBX, though.

I love the Outer Banks!!!!! Living between Florida and Pennsylvania, we travel back and forth frequently. This sometimes gives us the opportunity to take the "longer route" home, and we always enjoy it. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos.

Beautiful pictures and I know what you mean if "stuff" happens and you missed your yearly visit. September 25 - October 2 we were in Myrtle Beach and for the first time in over 15 years it rained big time every day except the day we arrived and the day we left! There were 8 of us and we still had a great time visiting, catching up on family, playing cards, watching TV and eating! Sue of Robin and Sue

Loved the pictures! Are you aware that there are several Outer Banks Websites where you can order an Outer Banks Buoy Bell? They are beautiful and wonderful to listen to. Thanks for sharing your photos!

Margo,

One thing I like about OBX:  They ARE out there, aren't they!

Nor,

Thanks!  And, yes, they are very inviting!

Sue,

We've had rain at the beach before.  So it goes.

Patricia,

Thanks, I didn't know about the bells.  And you are quite welcome!

Ty, For many years these beaches were remote enough that growth was slow.  In the last 10-15 years that has changed, to some extent.

But they are still very pleasant.

I bought a Buoy Bell several years ago and during wintry windy weather, the sound of the Outer Banks drifts through my window and lulls me to sleep. There's nothing more peaceful than the sights and sounds of the Outer Banks.

Patricia,

Buoy Bells sound cool.  But, can you smell the salt air?

Patricia,

Right-O!  I always get a kick out of pulling out a beach bag, and seeing the sand in it from the last time it was used.
