Color Consultation in Massachusetts
Autumn in Massachusetts is my favorite time of year. Before the icy grays and whites of winter Mother Nature shows her majesty through the bounty of her glorious colors. Most New Englanders agree that there is no more lovely place to be than autumn in New England.
When I am asked to do a color consultation in Massachusetts the colors of autumn come to mind. It is interesting to see how these colors that we take for granted in nature work together so beautifully. We can see ,for instance, how complementary colors on the color wheel work well together. The burnt orange of the trees play nicely off the blue in the water. And look at how the teal/sage green trees add yet another interesting layer. A trained designer can help you work this palette into your home.
These red and green flowers are also great inspiration when doing a color consultation in Massachusetts. Used as accent colors they would be great against a neutral background.
And notice how the granny apple green vine looks against the deep teal and purple in the kale flower.
Bringing the colors of autumn into your home can be done in different ways. Why not paint a room a warm burnt orange. Here are some of my favorite Benjamin Moore burnt oranges. They are, from left to right, Buttered Yam, Peach Brandy and Firenze. These colors would also look gorgeous on a front door, depending on what your house color is.
Or if you don't want something that dramatic, add accent pieces that pull in burnt orange, teal green, apple green or the vibrant blue of an autumn New England sky. Inspiration is everywhere. If you are a New Englander, go for a walk and see how certain colors "speak to you".
The autumn foliage in New England presents a vibrant kaleidoscope that changes daily, reminding us to be a little bolder and more daring in our choices.
Why not try something interesting in your home?
