Last night I received an email inquiry on one of my listings through Trulia. I was a little sceptical at first, but being as I must treat it a legit for my client's sake, I gave the person the information they requested.
Now I know from this morning that once again, real estate agents are being targeted through Trulia with a new scam. Below is the email I received this morning with what the "buyer" needs to be done:
Dear Jennifer Kirby,
Thanks for your detailed response to my mail, due to the urgency, we have accepted the price for the property and i we can do it personally with your assistance..
I'm in a remote location of Jordan with my husband Hakan Uzan and my 7yr olddaughter. the Jordanian King cancelled our Jordanian passport, we will be grateful if we can arrange a meeting Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa to know ourselves better and discuss how confidentially pay for the property and relocate .we can still proceed if you cant come but all Documentation to be in my British maiden name JOY BROWN.
As soon as we hear from you , I can i can then inform you on how to getfunds for the property purchase .
we shall reward you handsomely. This BBC news will explain more about the hatred the government has on my husband's family and business.
THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN.
MRS JOY HAKAN UZAN
Please know I did not include the link they provided as there is no way in hell I am clicking on anything in this email. I find it laughable that this person wants me to travel to Jordan and some how, through my magic diplomatic skills, get them into the country. I wonder if they realize I am in the United States, and not in England??
They almost got me at "we shall reward you handsomely" (sounds like something out of a movie), but I think I'll pass. So, if you get anything from "Joy Brown" or anything as stupid as this scam, hit the delete button....but I am sure there are some of you out there that can't resist to send them a smart answer back.
