Real estate and dating....Can the two go together and mesh?

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit 1 Stop Realty

OK not your typical blog but I felt the need to get this one off my chest so here it is.  I have been a licensed real estated agent for seven years now and during my tenure I have grown in my profession and that growth has come in part by putting in the necessary resources i.e. time, education, marketing etc.  As a result of my growth my dating life has taken a direct hit so much so that I have recently thought about only dating other real estate agents because for the most part they get it.  Other agents who are successful know the commitment that is needed to grow in this business.  The guys I keep meeting are not career driven enough and they most definitely don't completely get my profession......can I say GRRRRR!!!!!  Furthermore, the old saying of opposites attract has not been working for me and I have found out that it is just as competitive in the dating market as in the housing market which brings me to my new twist of dating other real estate agents.  I think it would add to a possible relationship because the both of us will be striving for the same thing as well as enjoying each other.  Who knows, we could form our own team in real estate and really share in the business!

I sympathize with you I just thank goodness for my husband who is patient and knows how hard we work at being Real Estate Agents.  He isn't a Realtor but does work for me from time to time and he knows what it takes.  I hope you find someone as loving and patient as my husband.

Alicia,

Why not give it a try.  If there's someone in the business that you find attractive and can laugh together, you might ask them to lunch and start easy to see how that goes...

My husband and I work together so we are together 24/7 and have one of those rare blessed marriages.  We are both quite content to spend that time together.

I hope you find someone that you can share quality time with.  Please let me know how it goes.

Hello Alicia..I have known some great husband and wife teams in this business. Making a career in real estate is quite different than seeking that 9 to 5 corporate job in business. I am sure you will find your match mate soon, who shares your same interests and passions in life.

I do believe dating is like home buying process. You have to know exactly what you want and what you qualified for:)
