I am getting to this a tad to late.. the game starts in 30 minutes....but what excitement in Philadelphia and in San Francisco. And talk about another good pitching match up today, with Cole Hamels for Philly and Cain for San Fran. Right now, the Phillies are tied up 1 game a piece with the Giants. Sunday's night game was not a must win for the Phillies, since this is a best of 7 game series, but you might have well called it a must have. To be down 2 games with the next 3 in San Francisco, would have been a deep hole.

Summary : Why I love the Phillies in this one?  The Phillies bats were a tad better than the Giants both in the regular season and so far in the play offs. The Phillies players have much more experience.  And I think the Phillies beat a Cincinnati team in 3 games than the Giants beat in an Atlanta team in 4 games. The Cincinnati Reds had the best offense in the regular season.

And with today's pitching match up, one can not love Hamels in this one. In Hamels play off years, he is 6-3 in 11 games with a 3.36 combined era in 69.2 innings pitched. He pitched terribly last year, not being in form and he even admitted this. Just last year alone, Hamels was 1-2 with a 7.58 era. He only allowed 2 hits against Cincinnati.

In regards to Cain, he has only played 1 play off game ever, and that was against the Atlanta Braves 10 days ago. yes, he gave up no runs in 6.2 innings, but that was it.  Hamels pitched a complete game shut out.

Jeff's Prediction Phillies 5   San Francisco 1

Phillies win the NLCS 4 games to 2 games

GO PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Phillies, huh?  Hmmmmm....

I was on the plane last night and missed the whole Yankee game.  I turned my phone on when we landed at 11pm last night and my friends had texted me the final score.  I thought they were pulling my leg until I checked espn.com.  8 to ZERO????  Say it ain't so!!!!

I hope to see the Phillies vs. Yankees.....now that would be good!

KERRIE.... . yes, why not the Phillies especially considering that I live outside the Philadelphia area... ;o)  So let me ask you this, how and why did you become a Yankees fan?  boooo  lol   ps.. my second favorite team are the Red Sox... ;o)    ps.. I don't think we will be seeing the Yankees in the World Series.. considering that they are down by 4 with 2 innings to go..

RICHARD... .  it would be the Phillies... but as I mentioned to Kerrie above, I don't see the Yankees making it to the World Series.. thanks
