Lexington Barbeque Festival this weekend.
Well, it's that time of year again. Yse pig, pig and more pig. Pig statues all over Lexington, Pig sand sculptures, baby pigs, and of course the main attraction, Lexington style Barbecue.
It takes place in uptown Lexington, NC on Saturday, October 23, from 8:30AM to 6:00PM. Admission is free.
Lexington has many barbecue restaurants and most participate by making barbecue for the festival. For those of you not familiar with Lexington style barbecue, it's pork shoulder, smoked for around twelve hours, then chopped finely, added to a soft hamburger bun, with slaw and a little dose of the local BBQ sauce. Trust me, it's good!!!
There will be hundreds of vendors, a kids area with games, rides, face painting and entertainment including country, blues, rock and gospel music.
If you're anywhere near Lexington North Carolina, it's worth going!
