I was sitting in Bradley International Airport a few weekends ago, waiting to head back home to West Palm Beach. Of course the plane was behind schedule. An announcement was made, "anyone with a connecting flight that leaves before 5:45, please report to the desk" I had a 5:45 connection in Philly so I approached the desk and asked if I would make my connection.
I was assured that I would be fine, so I boarded the plane and headed to Philly. Unfortunately the plane did not even make it to the gate until 5:49. The plane left without me and I was left to wait for customer service in the longest, slowest, and angriest line of travelers I have ever encountered. I speculate that my connecting flight was overbooked and that my absence was of no concern to anyone in the airport.
I eventually made it home the following morning. Everyone who travels a lot eventually runs into a situation like this. I must note that every time I travel, I leave from, and return to Palm Beach International Airport. I must note that this is the friendliest, most efficient airport around. Never has any of my flights been late to the gate or late to leave, never has a flight been overbooked, never has anything not gone smoothly. Everyone there is friendly and eager to help, all information is accurate and the airport is extremely easy to navigate.
For many people, returning home after a trip can be depressing, but not when you're headed back to South FL and to an airport that strives for excellence.
