Kennesaw, Georgia is hosting a Halloween spectacular that is not to be missed! The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw is looking to put a bit of fright into history when its Haunted Museum returns this week in celebration of Halloween.
Last conducted in 2006, The Haunted Museum's spooky tour will feature ghostly versions of historical characters from 5 - 9 p.m. Friday October 22nd and Saturday October 23rd. The tour is recommended for ages 10 and up. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for ages 10 to 12. Other family-friendly activities will be provided for all ages.
The museum will be closed during regular business hours on both days, but is sure to introduce new patrons to Civil War and locomotive history.
The storyline of the 15-minute haunted tour, through several spooky sets, is that visitors attempt to catch a scheduled train that they must not miss without consequences. A tour guide leads them on their journey. Visitors will travel through the tour in a group of up to 15 people.
Visitors on the tour can expect to see Civil War soldiers, Abraham Lincoln and other historical figures in Halloween form. Alongside them will be a cast of regular ghouls and monsters, and other characters dressed in a variety of costumes. Sets include that of a cemetery, prison and swamp. Museum staff, Kennesaw State University students and members of the community will be participating in the Haunted Museum.
Visitors under the age of nine who might find the tour a bit too scary can be entertained outside with a petting zoo, pony rides, a pumpkin trail, a costume contest, face painting and other outdoor activities hosted by the Kennesaw Parks and Recreation Department.
