St. Augustine, FL was just named by Smart Money Magazine as one of the top 10 Best Places to Retire.
The article mentions a downside of St. Augustine being its location to a major airport. St. Augustine has two major airports less than 1 hour away---Jacksonville and Daytona. At our local candidates forum on Monday, Lydia Kirker, who is running for the Airport Authority, commented on being in favor of bringing a commercial airline to St. Augustine's airport.
I just recently blogged about how wonderful St. Augustine is as a place to live and now Smart Money is "smart" enough to name St. Augustine as one of their top rated places to retire.
A group of professionals in St. Augustine are teaming together to help promote St. Augustine to individuals to encourage them to move to the area. The organization is called the St. Augustine Regional Council or StAR for short.
