How are you surviving in this current market slow down?
The market is definitely not what it used to be, there is a lot more listings on the market and a lot fewer buyers. The pie is shrinking and there are still very many agents fighting for each and every sale.
The market may turn around soon but from many predictions it may be one or two years away. I hear of a lot of agents getting second jobs and I know many who have quit the business.
What is your plan to make it through the tough times?
Here are a few ideas that are bouncing around.
- Specialize in foreclosures and short sales.
- Take fewer listings and focus on buyers.
- Take more listings and let the buyers come to you.
- Take more listings and start working with more buyers.
- Stop spending money on print media and focus on the internet.
- Sell on of your investment properties and use the money to carry you through the tough time.
- Damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead. I'm going to expand!

Buyers and sellers are still out there, although a lot fewer than in the past few years, how are you going to capture your share of the business?
