As the supply of large, old-growth timber diminishes, engineered wood provides a sustainable solution. Timber from small-diameter fast-growing trees—fir, pine, and poplar and scrap wood—is reassembled into boards, beams, and veneers as well as structural framing, joists, and small lumber.
