Over the last few days I have been revisiting the basics, I'm talking the core of what keeps me going. As individuals we all have our BIG why's in life and at different points, they may change. And we all have the course plotted to get us to the sometimes elusive Emerald City. So in the journey, down that yellow brick road, how do we keep our sanity in all of this?
Many years ago as a child, I took a liking to the writings of Mark Twain. Some of his quotes have helped me in this plotted course and believe it or not, in the Real Estate Venue as well. On my desk and always in sight is this one;
Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody is watching.
Sometimes, lately, the first part is very hard for me, to work like you don't need the money but I am more aware now that when I do I am so much more productive. To love like you've never been hurt is..... just easy for me, I try to see the good in all and I'm sure there are people reading that understand this. And my favorite is to dance like nobody is watching; I won't dance without consuming a nice bottle of Merlot so it is much easier to achieve that one.
It is Thursday night; maybe I'll go see if my wife feels like dancing, best part is I don't even need the wine because I just love to see her smile!
P.S. We all need to stop trying to be someone else.... They're all taken!
