If you believe your shingles were installed between July 1987 through 2005 in that states of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, they may be part of a class action law suit. Signs of premature wear include: curling edges, granular loss and delamination (separation.) This applies to single and multifamily residential properties and commercial properties. I have a certified shingle master company that works directly with the manufacturer to recover your claim. If you are a home owner or a property manager and you believe you may have defective shingles please contact me and I will put you in touch with the right people.
Are you referring to Certainteed? If so, I have been on the list for updates, and believe another payout should be coming anytime now....
Hi Renee, thanks for sharing the information, I was not aware of the suit on shingles.
Yes, I am currently working with a contractor and the latest payout has been $75/square.
Renee: Do you happen to know if the payout is prorated for the length of time the old roof has been is service? Shingles dating back to 1987 would be at the end of their life cycle. Good information & post.
Hi Brian, thanks for asking...the contractor that I use received the following information directly from the manufacturer ten years and newer $40/sq and not prorated, eleven years and older $74/sq and prorated, but I would advise anyone to contact an expert in their geographical area. Take care.
Hi Renee,
Can you email me the info? marzena@marzenamelby.com Thanks for the heads up - this is the first time I have heard.
