Buyers Should Buy What They Want, Not Just Look for a Deal

Darrell is an engineer and wears cowboy boots. About ten months ago Darrell came came to me to help him find a house. I didn't know him at the time and it was hard at first finding out what he really wanted.

We started out looking at horse property, then just any rural acreage, and sometimes he would want to see houses in town and even in new sub-divisions with tiny yards. He has his kids on the weekends and wasn't sure where they should live. He was confused. And so was I trying to find him a home.

He finally called one day and said he had found the perfect place. It was about 10 miles farther than where he had said his geographical limits were. It had a distressed house that neede a lot of work( he is a structural engineer) so that was ok, but it also has a huge arena, stalls, barns everything he really wanted. He bought it.

Last weekend he invited me out to his house warming party. His daughter has a cowboy hat, and they all have their own horses and are loving it.  He sent me the following testimonial.

People sometimes say they want "X" and they end up buying "Y". Buyers need to be clear of what it is they truly want. The rest is just procedure after that.
