Is It A Good Time To Buy A House??

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Everything Pines Partners Fayetteville

The MILLION dollar question... Is it a GOOD time to buy a house?

I get asked this question ALL the time.  I try to give my potential buyers the information that they need to make a sound decision and then let them decide. It seems as though it works better if you see it for yourself.  The change with the interest rate in the last year has made a big impact on what buyers are qualifying for.  So what you qualify to buy today would not be what you would have qualified for last year. Today you would actually get MORE for your money.

Price Comparison

After viewing the chart let me ask YOU, do you think NOW is a GOOD time to buy a house??

Always, maybe with the exception of late 2006! Interest rates will never be lower and prices are poised to go up over the near term. Whether investing or buying a home to live in, don't look back and say"I wish I had!"

I'll have to give this one a few hours and reblog. Historically low interest rates. Definitely a great time to buy

It is a great time to buy in Colorado, as probably most of the country.  Your chart is a great example!

Melissa - Definitely a GREAT time to buy. Thanks for the practical, simple visual. Still, people will question this because of market conditions, but I remind them that owning puts a roof over your head, gives you some tax breaks for interest paid, and an opportunity to build equity, and with interest rates holding this low, it IS a great time to buy!

If you’re willing to buy a home to live in, raise a family in, retire in, and perhaps even die in, it’s always a good time to buy a home.

This is a good illustration of what the savings can be with the lower interest rates.  However, the question remain ... the the market continue to dip.  some say yes, and other say no?  The other big worry is jobs.  So it really depends on each person's situation.
