Real Estate is about Promoting!

By
Real Estate Agent with Real Estate

There`s an old saying "Getting to the Top is Easy, staying there is another story". We`ve been fortunate and i`d like to share some of our marketing strategies.

Below is a list of ideas you may wish to incorporate into you`re marketing system:

1- Contact former clients every quarter to say "Hello".I know this may sound corny to many, but I assure you people appreciate these calls, it shows you care.

2- Quarterly Newsletters, informing past clients ofReal Estate conditions that you`re observing.

3- Magnetic Football Schedules. I don`t know about where you live, but Texas is Football Country! These magnets have a tremendous shelf life.

4- You`re clients are the greatest "marketing tool". Whenever I do a listing presentation, I hand out a sheet of telephone numbers for our prospective sellers to contact after we leave.

5- Attend School Functions.
6- Frequent local businesses. Restaurants,Walgreen's,Dry Cleaners and Hair Stylists.
Real Estate is not "Rocket Science' it`s a people business no matter what some Guru`s Preach! Remember, promoting yourself each day will yield results!

Great post Mark,  I don't live in Football Country but I leave a list of local community resources and I volunteer at a local church.  It's great for marketing but mostly it's just a good thing to do.

Exactly!  Most of the great classes I attend are not about anything new.  They just keep enforcing the basics which work so incredibly well.  Thanks!

I agree, the the most successful agents are getting most of their business through referrals!

I'm not in sales, but I see y'all working hard every day.  I think your list is GREAT...but a word of caution from the consumer side.  This point can backfire: "Contact former clients every quarter to say "Hello".I know this may sound corny to many, but I assure you people appreciate these calls, it shows you care."

I don't ever want a realtor to "just say hello" to me if I know or feel there is an ulterior motive, such as lining their pocket with a fat commission.  Developing real friendships and being kidn to people without the overt expectation of a commission or "sale" is what I like.  I don't want to feel like I'm on someone's calendar just so they don't lose a sale.  Even if you're calling to tell me about market conditions or last nights Bronco game, I'll appreciate that more than a secret agenda.  :)

Good post it is like being a politician with the signs and all. I look at it as if I'm running for Mayor.
