Are you going to the Nutcracker Suite this year? My parents are starting to make this an annual tradition for our family now that my niece is old enough to enjoy it. She is now 7 and this will be her 3rd year attending.
I remember it so well last year. She was so adorable. As we waited on line, they had a big warning sign that there was a real live cannon that makes a loud noise so warn your kids so they won't be scared. Well I read the sign and my then 6 yr old niece got very nervous and wasn't sure if she wanted to stay. We kept trying to assure her not to worry. So, lot's of tension building up to this cannon...and, then, it went off, and it wasn't that loud, and she said, "Was that it? That's a real let down. Why did they make such a big deal about that?"
Anyway, her eyes were wide open and she love it. We then went to my brothers' house and of course she was twirling and dancing all around. It was quite entertaining.
Anyway, the do a wonderful job with the Nutcracker at SUNY Purchase, so if you want a holiday treat and some delightful family moments considering attending. And, maybe I'll see you there.
