According the the Orange County Register Huntington Harbor in Huntington Beach has the priciest short sale home in 2010. The home is a waterfront home with a lot of high tech features. It may not be the highest priced home that was on as a short sale but this one closed. It is a 5000 square foot home on Barnstable Circle and it went for $1.85 million last week.
It is interesting that the asking price for the home was $2.85 million in April and dropped its price in June to $1.95 million. For those that are sceptical about buyers purchasing a short sale look at this home. It was a great purchase for the buyer. A fantastic home at a bargain price.
It is not easy for a lot of buyers to wait for the bank to approve tha short sale. There is a chance that the bank will say no. There is even a chance the bank may come back with a rediculous price as a counter. But the best deals I have seen are the ones that go through as this short sale did.
Another buyer got a great deal on a home here on the waterfront. So if you can be patient and not count your chickens before the deal is done. You too could get a waterfron home like the one in Huntington Harbor on a short sale.
