Million dollar home to be raffled

Hello happy Labor Day to you all. It is good to see so many on-line, making comments and writing new blogs.

My reason for being here this morning is to inform you on something that I read in the Daily News this morning, it happens that it was in the business section from yesterdays paper.

The article is titled "million-dollar home to be prize in raffle" Now you might be thinking that it is some little shanty put up in a bad section of town, well you would be wrong. The home has 3475 square feet, it features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, three fireplaces and a gourmet kitchen, and is located at 6967 Sale Ave. West Hills Ca.

Tickets are being sold at $150 apiece and they are only selling 18000 of them. You have got to like those odds. Proceeds from the sale are going to a private school that is in the neighborhood, (it's good to know that it is not going to line some rich guys pockets.)

They currently have only sold 2000 tickets, and they are shooting for the drawing to take place late October. Also there is scheduled an early bird drawing, September 19. The article further mentions that they are to have 60 prizes in all including cash and a 2007 BMW (it does'nt mention the model)

I have included a link, if anyone would be interested in seeing the home, there is also info there if you would like to purchase a ticket. Million Dollar Home Raffle

Thanks for reading, and if you end up purchasing a ticket. Good Luck!!!

P.S. If anyone does happen to purchase a ticket, I would love to hear about it. I will keep a tally on those from AR, that have entered, and I will post the number of tickets purchased, (not the names), at a later date.

Debi, sorry I forgot to mention. If you win you can keep the house, or take 800,000 in cash. You don't have to move to So Cal. :)

I don't have to move to So. Cal? .... .... .... I still like the carving set, although eventually the house will end up here, with the movement of the Pacific Plate and all... not a big fan of earthquakes (we do get our share too)
