Pick Your Own Apples at Karabin Farms in Southington Connecticut

There's still time to pick your own apples at Karabin Farms.  It's one of the many great things to do in Southington Connecticut!

  It's our family's tradition to go to Karabin
Farms in Southington Connecticut every
Columbus Day.

I can tell by the crowds that this is a tradition for MANY Southington families - we ALWAYS see lots of people we know when we're here!

We started with a wagon ride to the apple orchard.  

Wagon rides to Pick-Your-Own apples, peaches, and pumpkins begin Labor Day thru late October on Saturday, Sunday (and Columbus Day) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

We picked lots of fresh delicious apples. They have many varieties to choose from like Empire, Cortland, Jonathan, Macoun, Gala, Red Delicious, Gala and Cameo.

We couldn't wait to get home to start baking lots of apple pies!   Go here for recipes for yummy treats like Apple Fritters, Caramel Apple Crunch, Apple Cake and Berry Apple Slump. 

No visit to Karabin Farms would be complete without visitng the Barnyard Friends. It's fun for children of ALL ages!

Year after year we come here and it never gets old ....

I just love shopping at the Karabin Farms quaint country store!  They have a great selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, local honey, maple syrup, jams, pickles, soup mixes, and gourmet cheeses among other things. 

They also offer unique candles, soaps and a wide variety of gift items.  Home baked pies are available August through December. 

Take a peak at some of their unique gift baskets.  Join the Karabin Farms Fan Club and stay up-to-date on all the  special promotions and special events and recieve a 5% discount on all purchases!  The store is open daily 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Karabin Farms has spring flowers in early April, mums in the fall, Poinsettia's for Christmas as well as custom-designed planters.  

We'll definitely be back Thanksgiving weekend to choose and cut our own Christmas tree.  (Pre-cut Connecticut trees will also be available).

The store will be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland and will be open daily 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
