The Texas Renaissance Festival -- Part 1! There are so many great things to do at the "ren fest".
From looking at all the great architechture around...
such as this little shop exterior. They have real flowering plants up over the entrance and the greenery is real as well.
Another great thing is to people watch. It is lots of fun with all the costumes that people wear. About 1 in 7 people are in period dress. It is very interesting to see how authentic they get with the costumes. There is a costume rental shop right outside the front gates if you want to dress the part.
This was printed before my eyes on the Gutenberg Printing press. I also saw a lady make paper.
This is one of the attractions for children, it is called the cage and they must crawl around the center in a upward sloping spiral and then they can exit.
A cool thing to do would be to take a horse drawn carriage ride. That is one beautiful horse. For more activities, check out my next segment on The Texas Reniassance Festival.
