Washington Monument under the October moon

Washington Monument at moonrise

I took about a dozen shots of the moon coming out from behind clouds when I visited the Washington Monument a year ago. I waited for 15 minutes as the rest of the group walked around that evening, and kept taking shots until I got the best I could, considering my camera doesn't deal with low light and I have shaky hands. I combined the best two into this one. I don't call it blurry, I call it arty.

Robin - That moon almost has a mystical feeling when pictured with the Washington Monument.  Nice capture!

Hi Robin - What a great shot!  I have never been good at night shots, so you are better than me!

Thanks, everyone!

It took me a long time and about two dozen shots to get this one. It's actually composed of two shots combined, in order to get the best one of the moon shining through the clouds, and the monument glowing. I have shaky hands, too. Good thing I went into real estate instead of brain surgery!
