Is There Is GOLD In Them Thar Hills?

Fall Color, Logan Martin Lake Sales

The State of Alabama has been under a gripping drought that does not seem as it is going to let go. So far St Clair County is not producing much Fall color. The leaves on the trees are turning brown and falling off. In the area around Pell City, it is about the same story. I could not wait until Fall arrived so I could go play with my camera. It has been extremely disappointing. I did find an place in the Talladega National Forest that produced some pretty colors. What do you think? Is there GOLD in them thar hills?

Diane, you did a good job of finding the color. We are also in a drought!  It has not rained here for weeks.  We NEVER get the pretty color though.  Our leaves fall off about December but they just turn brown and fall.  The good news is that they are back by March.

Hello, Marchel, This area is in the mountains about an hours drive from my house. I figured the higher the cooler.  We are still in temperatures around the high 70's and low 80's.  We are finally expecting some rain tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

Rebecca, thank you for stopping by. Glad you liked!

Juili - I really love all the colors in this picture. I was proud to find so much color together.   It is late and I hear thunder!

Diane,

I see different shades of green in those trees. If that's as good as you can get, then you did well!

Here in Flower Mound I had to cut my grass two days ago, I still hear crickets (or at least I HOPE those are crickets in my yard and the trees of the forest), my azaleas are blooming! My roses are doing very well, and brown leaves are falling off of green trees.

The changes of the season are as diverse as people and geographic locations!

Thanks for sharing your autumn trees! :)

Patricia, Texas sounds like a wonderful place to live especially if your azaleas are still blooming.  My favorite season is the spring when the earth wakes up for the summer.   Then it gets way to hot in Alabama.   Our temps during the day are in the high 70's to low 80's,  started to cool off at nights for good football weather.   We finally had a front come through last night for some much needed rain.  Thank you for stopping by.

Debi - Sometimes it is great to get out and ride especially when you had a hard week.  I enjoyed this day very much and was glad when I found this place.  Thanks for stopping by.
