MAKING PINE NEEDLE BASKETS

Where:  Aldridge Botanical Gardens

When:  Tuesday, October 26th from 10 am to 2 pm

Cost:  $25 for members and $34 for all others

 

 

This event should be a lot of fun!  Ethel Owen (an award-winning basket maker and artist) will be here to share techniques of an ancient art.....using long leaf pine needles and raffia to create beautiful baskets.  You will begin a project in class that you will be able to finish at home. 

 

All materials will be furnished......all you need to do is register and remember to bring a sack lunch.

That sounds like a lot of fun! The Indians back in East Texas used to make all sorts of things out of pine needles. They were interesting and beautiful.
