Conversations from Cape Cod Welcome to my Blog

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Atlantic Realty
So what’s all this buzz about Blogging?  I was first introduced to blogging about 6 years ago.  My youngest brother has had a wonderful blog, just about him & his interests, for ages it feels like, but then this is the kid who took apart the Atari and wrote his own game at age 13. No kidding.  As a result of having this techno-geek in the family, I became a member of America Online in 1990 and have been a part of the world wide online community since.  I have also proudly owned a Macintosh computer since then.  Not that I don’t know how to use PC, I do, I even recall how to use DOS and once wrote code in Basic for a college course.  I love what computers have done for us in general and I am very happy to be a part of the Connected Generation for what ever that is worth.  And for the record, if I am fessing up to owning a Mac, I am also a NY Yankees fan and I am what native Cape Codder’s call a Wash-ashore.

What about me though?  Why should I be blogging and what the heck to blog about?  Of course here on Active Rain there is the focus on Real Estate and the ancillary services related to real estate.  What do I think I know or have to say about real estate?  I am new as a Professional Realtor, haven’t even held my license for a year.  Why would anyone read a blog from such a new comer in real estate when there are folks here with decades of experience to glean from?  I don’t know, but that won’t stop me.  I’ll do it because maybe mine is a fresh voice with experience in life and a decent sense of humor.  I’ll do it because there are things that are unique about where I chose to live, Cape Cod, Massachusetts and I enjoy sharing those things with others.  I’ll do it because maybe someone will read it and relate, maybe laugh out loud, maybe scratch their head and wonder. Maybe I will be of assistance to some one.  I’ll do because, Why Not?

I suppose that pretty much sums up my attitude toward life, Why Not?  I have had dreams I wanted to make happen and I did.  I have bought and sold many properties, investment, commercial and residential with the assistance of Realtors for myself.  I have helped other people,  my family and some friends make their decisions about their own real estate investments.  I have always closely followed the real estate market where ever I have lived and in places I dream about living. I love houses and architecture in general.  I have always wanted to be a Realtor, so I decided to do it.  Why not?

Maybe this is the softest real estate market we’ve seen in this country in a long time, maybe many folks won’t still be in the real estate business in two years, but I intend to be here. Why not?  I know this business is about relationships and I know it takes time to build upon those relationships to reap the benefits.  I’m ready to invest the time in the people who are going to make my business work as I work for them.  I’m ready to educate myself further to enhance my ability to help others.  Why not? To me that’s what life is all about, helping others which in turn helps me!  So I hope you’ll keep an eye on my Blog to see what evolves. Why not?

Nancy, Welcome to AR. You are from Brewster, Cape Cod!!!!  In my book, you have "everything" to write about. I personally subscribe to Cape Cod life, Cape Cod Home, etc. There is never enough written about the Cape for me, nor enough pictures or photos! So blog away, you will have at least one avid reader!

Judi; Thanks for the Welcome!

Sarah;  Appreciate the offer for assistance!  Seems like some folks believe I have lots of something to write about! Thanks for the nice comment!

Karen; Actually my office is in Brewster, but I live in Yarmouth Port, so I pretty much cover Barnstable to Truro in my practice. I agree there is so much to write about the Cape! It is the neatest place and I love it! So much diversity amidst the totality of Cape Cod! Glad to have you as my fisrt avid reader! Thanks!

Bruce; Aloha! Mahalo nui loa!   I dream Hawaii! A hui kaua!

Hi Nancy,

Nice Post for a first timer! Although I am not new to real estate, I am very new to Active Rain. I too am a little nervous on this whole blogging concept.

I love your winning attitude. It will take you far in real estate. Keep it up! And best wishes for a very successful career.

I'm jealous you're on the Cape. I haven't been in years but used to love to go to Provincetown.

Have a wonderful week!
