What is your favorite treat shop Charlotte?

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Live Love Homes-Keller Williams, Charlotte, NC Ballantyne Area

Last week I wrote a post about how my kids had found the best ice cream in Monroe, at Mac's Restaurant. This week, the kids got their report cards and as a reward they decided that they wanted dessert one night before dinner. They let me persuade them to try something we had never had.

Charlotte Kilwin's fudge case

During the last couple of months I had become friends with the owner of Kilwin'sin Charlotte so I talked the kids into giving it a try. Needless to say, all three if my kiddos now are huge fans of Kilwin's.

Charlotte Kilwin's marble slab

My kids are aged 2, 6 and 11. All three have been in numerous candy stores before but nothing with this much sugar all in one place.  It was a real treat for them because they do not get a ton of sweets and sugar on a regular basis.

We were told that in the evenings the big marble table becomes the center of the entire store. That is where they roll the fudge and a lot of the creations come alive. Unlucky for us it was only 4 in the afternoon and we did not get to witness this fun firsthand.   Before we got there the kids all decided that they wanted ice cream. The only problem with that is that Kilwin's has so many flavors to choose from. With 3 kids all under the age of 12, this process took over 10 minutes. Thank goodness for the patient girl behind the counter.

Kilwin's Charlotte ice cream

While we were eating our ice cream we sat on the stools that overlook the area where the marble slab is.  Every couple of minutes I would have to get up and chase the little one down because he saw some new form of chocolate or sucker that he thought he needed to try. I ended up buying some of the ones that he opened to test out.

Charlotte Kilwin's kidsI have already promised the kids that after we get their next report card or special occasion that we will drive to Charlotte and visit Kilwin's again. Only next time, I have promised that we will do it at night so they can see what is made on the special marble slab table.     What are some of your favorite places to go in the Charlotte and Union County areas? We would love to know and possibly feature it in a future post.

In the meantime, are you looking to buy, sell, rent or know someone who is in the Charlotte or Union County areas of North Carolina?  See how Team Ludlow Realty will deliver on all the promises that others only make.

Lisa  If you are going to do a hyper-local business post I can't think of anything better than a shop to buy treats :)  Very well done
