The New Sanibel Causeway Grand Opening Ceremony is to take place September 8, 2007
I am looking forward to this event next Saturday and hope to see you there! As I began my Real Estate Career on the island of Sanibel, I have and will always have a special place for the old causeway in my heart. However, as my husband and I drove over the new causeway today on our way to the Old Lighthouse and the beach, we smiled as we took in the awesome view! If you have any time in your schedule at all next Saturday, bring the whole family for this fun event and celebration. I will be there with my running shoes on to participate in the 5 k. 5K Race on New Causeway- Meet at Island "B" Toll Plaza
10:00 am - 12 noon
Kayak Demonstration and Blueway Information - Causeway Island "B" Gulfside
10:30 - 12 noon
Sail Boat Regatta - Offshore of Causeway to Matanza's Pass
11:00 am - 12 noon
First Car Procession Across New Bridge "C" - Bridge closest to Sanibel
11:00 am - 12 noon
New Sanibel Causeway Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - Causeway Island "B" Gulfside
10:00 am - 12 noon
Walkers and Bicyclists May Traverse Entire New Causeway - Toll Plaza "C" to New Bridge
All of the activities can be viewed from the tent on causeway island "B" and there is publice parking areas either on the island at Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce and also at Resort Quest Real Estate.
And, there will even be a continuos FREE trolley shuttle service from all parking areas to causeway island "B" from 10 am - noon for Mobility Handicapped there will be parking available on causeway island "B"
