Deep Thoughts...

By
Industry Observer

I had a meeting this morning where someone was trying to give me advice on how to run our business. I was meeting a vendor and trying to cut back on some expenses. The Spirit took over for me and here's some of what came out... It had my attention as well.

Compromise. It demands increase. If you want an example, just look at Israel. What happens every time they compromise? They lose more ground and gain more trouble. This is why we never cut a deal to increase our page count. It will demand more in the future. There are some doors best left closed. I am a Green Bay Packer fan. For over the last 2 decades I lived or died, (not really-drama for effect)  by a gunslinger who wasn't afraid to fail... too much so. He often made mistakes that led to their defeat. He may hold some great all time records but one of them is interceptions! Sometimes to win a game you have to throw the ball away to live to fight another play. When Aaron Rodgers played his first game taking over for Brett, he saw nobody open on a 3rd down and threw the ball out of bounds. I almost cried and turned to the person next to me and said, we finally have a QB that knows how to throw it away!!

Our thoughts are one thing within our control. Thoughts lead to Actions. Actions lead to Habits. Habits lead to Strongholds. Strongholds lead to Character. Character leads to your Destiny. Destiny is where you want to be. Our destiny lies where God placed our face before we were born. It's our challenge while we're here to get our butts where our face is. How you get there is as simple as how you think.

What you are involved in, you are invested in.
What you are invested in always brings return. If what you are invested in is not bringing a return, it's not an investment, it's consumption. The absolute best investment of all time is always the Kingdom of God.

Even as I read these outside the context of the conversation, I pause and thank God for wisdom that only comes from Him.

Involved in/interested in... this is something I preach... it is a bit of mental health to have an outlet outside of work to stay sane in today's world!

"If what you are invested in is not bringing a return, it's not an investment, it's consumption."

That is a really good point! I never thought of it that way...thanks for the new perception!!

YOU are a child of God and He has a plan. It also helps that we've read the last chapter and already know that God wins!

I am really short on time today but wanted to acknowledge and thank you all for reading and commenting. We've been in a class at church learning how to minister to others. Deep ministry, not just Blessing, saying a prayer and moving on but deep searching and cleansing of one's soul, spirit and body. We've been talking about how everything can be reduced to just 2 major emotions behind motivations... Love or Fear. It seems too simple to say that... then I heard a message this morning by one of my favorite teachers, Bill Johnson and he said, "Fear can only influence that which is not under the influence of love."

The one line that seemed to grab my attention also was the Involved/Invested thought... and in ministering to people, we are invested in them. There are those who are not producing a return and therefore, sadly, we must move on and just let God do what He will with them. That is hard to do but if we don't, they will consume us. We are much too valuable and our destiny is much too important to be delayed and detained by them. Sometimes to truly love somebody we must let them sink even lower yet. Thanks again everyone and be Blessed today.

Investing and sowing time, money, your talents, etc. in the Kingdom of God always result in a blessed return.  God works on the behalf of those that love Him.  Thanks for the thoughts and comments, and praise God !

Phil: You are absolutely 100% correct. Thanks for the comment. As a favorite of mine, Smith Wigglesworth like to say right before he would pray for someone- "Now I'm going to pray and something will happen." When we pray with that kind of faith, something does always happen... a Blessed return.
