OH NO! They brought the kids to the showing appointment!

First, in no way do I want to give an impression that I have anything against children. I have two of my own that I love dearly. I have had in the past very unpleasant experiences with buyers who bring their unruly children along on an appointment to view a home. Both times that I vividly remember, the kids started running around the house, going in and out and making me a total nervous wreck. It also took away from the parents getting to concentrate on the home. They instead were yelling for the kids to "STOP", which did not work well. Plus as an agent, I am totally responsible for that home while I am there. So buyers, PLEASE, PLEASE, leave unruly children home. I know that you want them to be part of the buying process but if they can't behave....leave them HOME!

Not only do they bring them along, they allow them in on the decision making too!  I don't ever want to hear another 7 year old tell me that "no, this is not the one - keep looking and I'll let you know!"

YIKES!

Susan: I can half way understand parents wanting children to have "buy in" as to where they will live but the ones I have run across could not tell you what their room looked like because they were to busy misbehaving...thx for commenting

I have been fortunate enough to have pleasant children who ask such questions as "Will this be my room?" Margaret C.

Darryl, I feel your pain on this one.  Bad kids usually make for a bad showing and worse like Susan said, when the kids call the shots things are not going to go well.

I recently had a similar situation. 3 kids running through the open house, banging into walls, jumping off the steps etc.  The parents and their agent just stood by talking. After asking the kids to stop running  several times I had to ask the parents to take the kids outside. They just had that "boys will be boys" attitude. I can't imagine what their home looks like.

Very good point Darryl, now if only the buyers will listen!  Have a great day!
